STAGE MANAGEMENT

 

 

For beginner to advanced students wishing to learn about and experience Stage Management for plays and/or for musical theatre performances, in an exciting training environment.

This course will introduce or enhance the principles and practices of theatrical Stage Management.  There are 3 opportunities available each season to learn about stage management through practical application  working with Academy Director, Bonnie Craig, and the Course Instructors/Directors for:

• Senior level Acting program – Mondays 7 to 9:30pm

• Senior level Musical Theatre program – Wednesdays 7 to 9:30pm

• Adult Acting Performance program – Thursdays 8 to 10pm

 

Industry standard vocabulary will be taught, and through the season participants will learn to define, analyze and demonstrate knowledge of the role and responsibilities of the stage manager in live performance, including:

• Developing methods and terminology to communicate effectively with artists and technicians in rehearsal and performance.

• Creating a prompt book and all related paperwork for an assigned script

• Working with and assisting the director of each class/play/performance to which you are assigned in order to enhance your understanding of the stage management process
