How does it work? Headshots are an essential performer’s tool for all auditions and projects. It’s a professional photo that showcases how unique and intriguing you are! Our fabulous photographer, Daniel Yam, is a master at capturing beautiful and creative images, full of fun and emotion. These are NOT your average school photos, these are professional-quality images that can be used for agents and auditions!
We have 2 photography days available, so to book your students’ headshot session, sign up here to provide your student’s name and choose a date + time.

Who can participate? Any Ovation! student, kids/tweens/teens/adults, all are welcome!
You may join us for the stylist tutorial and a headshot session, or just a headshot session itself.
How to view/purchase photos: Families will receive a link in early April to view all photos on our Ovation! Gallery: https://ovationarts.zenfolio.com. We usually post 3 to 5 headshots for each student for families to choose from. If you choose to purchase an image, they’re $30 for each digital image and you order them directly through the website (there is no obligation to purchase a photo).

How does it work? Students will spend the evening at the Ovation! studio learning the basics of hand-to-hand stage combat, including safety practices and technique work, with an introduction to scene work with fight choreography. Students will learn the foundational safety concepts with accompanying techniques, how to connect to the actors’ process within a fight scene, and may try out a short piece of fight choreography!
Meet our Guest Artist! Christina Fox (they/she) graduated from the National Theatre School of Canada as an actor, and is involved in a wide variety of different creative work, including fight directing and stunts! Christina was recently the Assistant Fight Director for The Stratford Festival’s 2023 Season.
Film (Selected): Murdoch Mysteries, Hot Zone, Frankie Drake, Reign.
Theatre (Selected): Midsummer Night’s Dream (Chekhov Collective), The Vibrator Play (Red Wit Theatre), Three Sisters (Wolf Manor Theatre).
Stunts (Selected): The Handmaid’s Tale, Fellow Travellers, Hardy Boys, Pretty Hard Cases.
Who can participate? Any Level 3, 4, or 5 Ovation! student, ages 10 to 19 years (not open to students younger than 10, thanks). Our stage & screen acting, dance, and musical theatre students in particular are highly encouraged to participate! Stage combat experience is not required. What is required is an interest in learning more about this exciting aspect of performance, and a positive attitude! We will focus on learning the craft and skills in a unique and fun environment!
Great for our students & friends – feel free to spread the word if you’ve got a pal who wants to experience what Ovation! is all about! There is no fee to participate for Ovation! students, and the fee for any non-Ovation! student is $49+HST.
Each participant must bring/wear fitness/movement attire (including indoor shoes!), plus their own snacks/water bottle.
